Boston Mayor Michelle Wu says her city "will not back down from who we are and what we stand for " as she responded to the Trump administration's deadline to comply with federal immigration law.
Wu and 31 mayors from across the country received letters from U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi warning communities to comply with President Donald Trump's immigration policies or face prosecution. A deadline to submit a compliance plan was set for Tuesday.
"Here is our response," said Boston Mayor Michelle Wu "Stop attacking our cities to hide your administration's failures. Unlike the Trump administration, Boston follows the law and Boston will not back down from who we are and what we stand for. "
