CLEVELAND, Ohio — In June of 2015, a young Cleveland shortstop named Jose Ramirez was hitting .180 (27 for 150) when he was optioned to Triple-A Columbus. Everyone knew shortstop Francisco Lindor was a rising star in the organization, and some wondered if Ramirez would ever resurface in Cleveland.
Ramirez made the short trip to Columbus and hit .293 (51 for 174) with 13 doubles, two triples, 12 RBI in 44 games. He scored 29 runs and stole 15 bases in 19 attempts.
