SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — A rail failure on President Street, leaving the train stuck across the roadway, caused multiple traffic diversions, Savannah Police Department (SPD) announced.

Both directions of traffic will be rerouted.

Westbound traffic will be diverted to Truman Parkway South or rerouted back east toward Goebel & Pennsylvania Avenue.

Eastbound traffic from General McIntosh will be diverted west to East Broad Street.

Vehicles stuck between Eastern Wharf and the rail crossing will be turned around and also rerouted.

WSAV has a crew on the way and will update the story when more details become available.
