MIAMI GARDENS — The Miami Dolphins could have a major problem at backup offensive tackle. Or, the Dolphins might not have a problem at all.
The key to this whole situation is whether starting right tackle Austin Jackson, arguably the best run blocker on the offensive line, and starting left tackle Patrick Paul, arguably the best pass blocker on the offensive line, stay healthy.
If Jackson, a 2020 first-round pick, and Paul, a 2024 second-round pick, stay healthy, there’s no problem.
If they don’t stay healthy, the Dolphins could have a world of problems.
Having said that, I’ll admit the backup offensive tackles — Kion Smith, Larry Borom, Ryan Hayes and Jalen McKenzie — are improving.
They were inadequate to starting training camp. They’re still not good, but they got better in
