TEXARKANA, Texas — Three teens are facing charges after police say they stole a Pleasant Grove school bus and crashed it into a tree during an early morning joyride.
Around 4:30 a.m. on July 13, Texarkana police received a 911 call about a school bus driving on Richmond Rd., Officer Derrick Bowers spotted the bus minutes later but found it had already crashed into a tree. Police said the suspects ran from the scene before officers arrived.
Detective Travis Flowers took over the case later that morning and identified the suspects as Matthew Lacey, 18, and two 17-year-olds, Trip Wilson and Brooks Wilhite.
Wilson and Wilhite were arrested earlier this month, while Lacey was taken into custody over the weekend.
All three are charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle.
