Investigation ongoing as police identify body pulled from SUV found in Brazos River in Waco

WACO, Texas — Waco police have now identified the body found at the center of a questionable death investigation.

Officials say the body of 39-year-old Consuelo Bernabe was found inside a vehicle on Monday after the vehicle was pulled out of the Brazos River .

Bernabe was found Monday morning after it was reported that a Dodge Caravan had been found in the river near North University Parks Drive and Jefferson Avenue. Multiple agencies and crews helped pull the vehicle out of the river, which led to the discovery of Bernabe's body.

While details behind how the vehicle ended up in the river are limited, Waco police are treating the incident as a questionable death investigation.
