BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) –Balloon Fiesta organizers are bringing some of the festivities outside of Balloon Fiesta Park and into the Village of Los Ranchos for a "first-of-its-kind" event this year.

On Oct. 6, two days after the event kicks off, remote-controlled hot air balloons, known as Globitos, will line 4th Street through the Village. The free event, called Globito Glow in the Village, will also pay homage to Route 66's centennial and the village's 66th anniversary.

A total of 66 balloons will inflate along a half-mile stretch of the original Route 66 for a static display and glow from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
