ROSWELL, N.M. (KRQE) — A Roswell man is accused of burning his girlfriend with a liquid, then shooting her, and tasing her. Roswell police say Steven Rainer, 42, was arrested on Monday.
Police were called to a home around 8:50 a.m. on Monday. The victim told police that an argument between them had escalated, and he had pushed and hit her in the face. She said he then sprayed her with a liquid that caused burns. As she was trying to wash it off, her leg was then shot. Later, police say Rainer shocked her multiple times with a taser.
He's facing 17 felonies, including three counts of aggravated battery against a household member and 14 counts of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
