LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) - Nebraska and Iowa’s unemployment rates held steady for the month of July, according to two recent reports.
A report released Tuesday shows Nebraska’s unemployment rate in July was 3% -- the same it has been for the past four months.
“Nebraska has seen record employment and labor force highs month after month in 2025 and July is no exception,” said Labor Commissioner Katie Thurber. “The labor force exceeded 1,087,000 and the number of employed workers surpassed 1,055,000.”
Nebraska’s unemployment remains the sixth lowest in the nation , ranking under Hawaii, Montana, Vermont, and North and South Dakota.
According to the report, Nebraska’s areas of growth are private education and health services, leisure and hospitality, and mining and construction.
