A New Hampshire woman drowned on Monday after suffering a medical event while swimming in Laconia, according to New Hampshire State Police.
Bonita Johnston, 73, was seen swimming in Opechee Bay near the Lakeview Estates around 7 p.m. Monday. A short time later witnesses called for help when they saw her floating face down in the water. Two good Samaritans attempted to help until first responders arrived, police said.

Johnston was pronounced dead at Concord Hospital - Laconia. An autopsy found that she had a medical event while swimming and drowned.
