SOPHIE Cunningham has received unfortunate news on her knee injury, which the Indiana Fever star suffered over the weekend.

The 28-year-old's family was left furious following the guard's brutal knee injury during the Fever 's 99-93 win over the Connecticut Sun on Sunday.

Cunningham collided with the Sun's Bria Hartley while she was defending under the basket.

She was in pain and taken to the locker room with a leg issue .

Cunningham underwent an MRI scan to determine the extent of the injury.

However, the Fever announced that Cunningham will miss the rest of the season due to a right injury.

Fortunately, the team did share that Cunningham is expected to make a full recovery.
