Enterprise, Ala. (WDHN) -- Drivers in Enterprise may notice some delays on Daleville Avenue over the next two weeks as crews continue work on the city’s waterline replacement project.

Lanes will close each weekday starting around 8:30 a.m. to reopen the road by 2:30 p.m. before school traffic picks up.

Flagmen and detour signs will help direct drivers, with most traffic being routed to Gundy Lane.

The work is part of a $2.9 million effort to replace old waterlines throughout Enterprise. Over the next year, crews will be upgrading lines on several streets, including Airport Road, Kelly Street, Gilbert Street, Reese Avenue, and Woodland Drive.

Many of the waterlines being replaced are decades old and past their useful life.
