FORT GORDON, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - Fort Gordon went airborne on Tuesday as paratroopers took to the skies as part of an operation.

It was part of the TechNet Airborne Operation where paratroopers from across the Army, Joint, and Special Operations communities met.

This event highlights the unique airborne tradition of the signal corps and gives civilians a peek inside the life of paratroopers.

The jump not only shows the readiness and airborne proficiency of these units, but it also gives them the chance to show off their skills and training that allow them to do it in the first place.

It also gives family the chance to see their loved ones in action. We spoke to the parents of one soldier who jumped from the plane.
