ENID ― Authorities have released the name of the suspect who was shot and killed by police after he fatally shot a security guard at an Enid hospital late Sunday.

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation identified the shooter as Dedrick Bloss, 46, who'd been found by police outside Integris Health Enid Hospital around 11 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, after a domestic disturbance call nearby.

When officers with the Enid Police Department attempted to make contact with Bloss, he shot at them before making his way into the hospital, according to the OSBI.

Officials for Integris Health Enid Hospital said that J.W. Bode, a 72-year-old security guard, was shot by Bloss while inside the hospital.
