According to the Southeast Washington Interagency Incident Management Team, the Sun Country Fire is 70 acres in size.

Crews are working on fire perimeters to keep the fire within its footprint and will be gathering data to get a more accurate acreage. Crews are also looking for trees that could possibly fall.

SE WA IMT says residents on Hugh Banks Road and Timber Valley Road off Nelson Siding Road near exit 78 have received Level 1 (BE READY) evacuation notifications.

UPDATE: August 18 at 5:30 p.m.

Both directions of Interstate 90 between milepost 70 near Easton and milepost 106 near Ellensburg have reopened, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

This comes after poor visibility from nearby fires forced the freeway to close.
