CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A push is underway for additional safety measures at a Clarksville park.
It comes following recent drownings at a Billy Dunlop Park, which runs along the Red River.
On Sunday, a 10-year-old girl’s body was recovered by first responders after she drowned.
“The pain of that poignant moment lingers in our minds today, and will continue to do so for some time,” A city spokesperson said in a statement to WSMV4.
Her death comes three months after another pre-teen, William Tamba, drowned.
Here are instructions on how to watch WSMV4 live on various platforms.
It has ultimately led to the temporary closure of Billy Dunlop Park and Robert Church Park.
The city already had signs in place warning of dangerous conditions and encouraging the use of life jackets.
