SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - As students prepare for the new school year, the Springfield American Medical Response (AMR) team is urging families to prioritize their children's safety.

With the start of the school season, AMR emphasizes the importance of open communication between parents and children regarding safety, whether it's walking, biking, or riding the school bus.

"If you're in the car with your children, it's always a good idea to keep it fun, have those conversations to see where your child's mind is at," said Patrick Leonardo, Regional Director of AMR.
