JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - U.S. Marshals have arrested a man in connection with the shooting death of a Panola County, Mississippi, woman.

According to DPS Spokeswoman Bailey Martin, on Monday, Cortrell Motley, 36, was arrested on a Mississippi Bureau of Investigation warrant for first-degree murder.

The arrest was about a July 26 shooting on Highway 3 in which 41-year-old Amanda Liston was shot and killed.

Troopers with the Mississippi Highway Patrol originally responded to the call concerning a vehicle crash and discovered the driver, Liston, had gunshot wounds.
