NHC Tracking Potential Development Behind Hurricane Erin

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is closely monitoring two new areas of interest in the eastern Atlantic, signaling a potential increase in activity during the 2025 hurricane season.

This comes as Hurricane Erin continues its path, expected to remain offshore of the Eastern U.S. coast while bringing dangerous conditions to the shoreline.

One area of interest is a tropical wave located near the Cabo Verde Islands. While currently disorganized, forecasters indicate a medium chance of development over the next seven days, with a 60% chance of formation. This system is moving west to west-northwest at 15-20 mph.
