Florida’s legal fight to enforce a new law restricting minors’ access to social media platforms is moving to a federal appeals court. Attorneys for the state have appealed a U.S. District Judge’s recent decision that denied a temporary injunction to compel Snapchat’s operator, Snap Inc., to comply with the 2024 law.
The state’s appeal of U.S. District Judge Mark Walker’s ruling was filed with the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. An initial notice of appeal, a standard procedure, did not specify the arguments the state will present to the Atlanta-based court.
