A woman from Spain who spent time at Bishop Brady High School as a foreign exchange student in 2022 has sued the school and a housing organization after saying she was raped as a 16-year-old in a home they arranged for her to stay in.

The private school in Concord run by the Diocese of Manchester, and the California-based nonprofit organization Cultural Homestay International (CHI), “did not take the steps they represented to the public that they do to ensure a safe environment for students,” the lawsuit claims.

The student, whom the Union Leader will not name because of the nature of the allegations, was staying in the home of John and Roberta Woods in Hopkinton, who are also named in the lawsuit. The student is now 20.
