HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) - An Evansville city councilwoman who has announced her intention to run for congress says she found a message written in chalk outside her downtown business on Tuesday morning.

Mary Allen, owner of Sixth and Zero, said she found the words "wash it good bootlicker" written in chalk in front of her store. Allen said she believes it is politically motivated, and that she never had issues like this during her time as city councilwoman.

The incident comes just a couple of weeks after she announced her candidacy for congress. Allen is running for the seat currently head by Congressman Mark Messmer.
