MT WASHINGTON, Ky. — Water is being restored to customers in Mount Washington after a main line break impacted service across the city.
Mayor Stuart Owen confirmed the main water line was successfully repaired Tuesday afternoon. Owen said water pressure will be low for many customers at first, but should improve over time.
However, any customers will remain under a boil water advisory indefinitely.
The break was initially detected Monday afternoon across from the construction site of the new Wawa convenience store.
"This was a break in a main line seven feet in the ground," Owen said. "It is a 16-inch water line feeding the community."
Officials in Bullitt County say a water main break that left over 11,000 customers without water has now been repaired.
