WILMINGTON, N.C. -- Four firefighters were injured after a building exploded Tuesday in Wilmington, North Carolina.
The explosion was captured on video by someone nearby.
Wilmington Police said the blast was likely caused by a traffic crash that ruptured a gas line.
Officials told ABC affiliate WPDE that a vehicle turned from New Center Drive onto Bob King Drive, hitting gas lines before driving on.
The explosion happened at East Carolina Veterinary Medical Center. No one was in the building at the time, which was under construction.
Initial reports said three firefighters were injured, but ABC affiliate WWAY learned that four were hurt. The firefighters had what appeared to be minor, non-life-threatening injuries, but a third suffered severe burns on his arms and hands, WPDE sai
