BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - Several robotics programs at area schools and nonprofits can now get a much-needed upgrade or start-up thanks to the Tennessee Valley Authority.

They recently awarded $655,000 to 179 organizations across their service region. Recipients were awarded up to $5,000 for robotics kits, materials, and competition entry fees.

“TVA believes that offering these robotics awards and our STEM Awards will equip students across the valley to fulfill high paying jobs when they either graduate high school or graduate college, whichever they choose, and they’ll be able to support their family and they’ll be able to make their communities a better place to live, work and play,” TVA spokesperson, Adam May, said.
