BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) — A new school year is underway, but one familiar face keeps returning—again and again—leaving a lasting mark in his warm, inviting classroom.

Greenwood High School English teacher Scott Poe speaks with conviction—not out of mere interest, but out of genuine passion. And that passion always comes back to his students.

“At some point, if you’re going to be really successful in this, you have to figure out that teaching is not about what you want but what the kids need,” Poe said.

Before crossing town to teach freshmen at “the Swamp,” Poe taught at Warren East High School. He’s long been known for his quirky jokes, distinctive habits, and a passion for teaching lessons that reach beyond English.
