COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A man is recovering after a stabbing in downtown Colorado Springs on Monday morning, according to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD).

According to police, officers responded to the 100 block of North Nevada Avenue around 6:54 a.m. on a report of a stabbing.

At the scene, police said they found an adult male victim who was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Through an investigation, police said the victim may have been targeted because of his sexual orientation, due to statements that the suspect allegedly made right before the stabbing.

Police say a suspect, 41-year-old Zackariah Reed, was arrested in connection with the stabbing.

CSPD is still investigating this incident.
