MAINE, USA — Negotiations between Northern Light Health and Anthem Insurance have stalled. Northern Light announced last week it is ending discussions with the health insurance giant.

The two parties have been at odds for months, struggling to find common ground on reimbursement rates for the next three-year contract. Executives at the two companies cannot agree on basic details of the negotiations, including how active the two parties have been.

Northern Light's CFO, James Rohrbaugh, said the hospital system sent their most recent proposal on July 30.

"At this point, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield has not responded to our proposal," Rohrbaugh said. "When following up last week, they indicated that they did not intend to respond."
