The court challenge for the B.C. Government’s decision to fire Greater Victoria’s school board began in Victoria on Tuesday.

Crown lawyers are trying to strike portions of the petition from the court, as lawyers for the trustees try to obtain internal communications and notes made by Education Minister Lisa Beare they say are relevant to the file.

“In this case, our allegations of bad faith and improper purpose where we suggest that the minister actually wanted to impose a School Police Liaison Program without that information being attributed to her, we say that was an improper purpose,” said Sean Hern, council for the terminated trustees.
