NEW ORLEANS — A second resident of Orleans Parish has been diagnosed with West Nile virus.
The City of New Orleans said that the resident has the neuroinvasive form of the disease.
West Nile virus is spread to humans through the bite of an infected mosquito.
The City of New Orleans Mosquito, Termite and Rodent Control Board (NOMTRCB) said they will conduct area-wide adulticide spray missions on Tuesday night to target adult populations of our primary vector of WNV.

The Treatments will be conducted by truck between the hours of 8:30 p.m. and 1 a.m., weather permitting, in the following areas:
Central City, Milan, Touro, & the Garden District bounded by S Claiborne Ave, Tchoupitoulas St, Napoleon Ave, and the Pontchartrain Expy.
