SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The biggest high school football game in the state of Georgia this week will be played in Hostess City at Memorial Stadium. Benedictine hosts Buford in Week 2.
The Cadets, ranked No. 2 in Class AAAA, come in at 0-1 after losing on the road to Colquitt County, the No. 9 team in Class AAAAAA. Benedictine head coach Danny Britt said his team gave away the contest because they committed undisciplined penalties.
Buford is 1-0 and ranked No. 2 in Class AAAAAA. They defeated Milton, 20-13, in a Week 1 game televised on ESPN2.
This is the second straight week the Cadets will face a team in Georgia's highest classification. These two powerhouses also played last year. The game ended in a one-point victory for Buford, which is something BC has not forgotten.
