Excitement filled campuses Friday morning as the College School District in Santa Ynez launched the 2025–26 school year with a flag salute, BMX stunt show, and plenty of Bobcat pride.

In the weeks leading up to opening day, students returned to find new murals at Santa Ynez Elementary — one spelling out the school’s name and another brightening the new Eighth Grade Bobcat Den. A third mural celebrating the district’s youngest learners, the “Baby Bobcats,” is planned later this year at College School.

The district also unveiled a long-awaited play structure at the lower campus, complete with shade and musical components like bongo drums and a xylophone. The campus serves students across two campuses: College School, which houses preschool, T-K and kindergarten; and Santa Ynez Elementary S
