Lompoc skies were dotted with yellow over the weekend as part of the inagural West Coast Cub and Antique Fly-in event that welcomed a fleet of antique aircraft to Lompoc Airport.
The event, dovetailing off 40 years of Cubby fly-ins, included dozens of vintage biplanes and antique and experimental aircraft in addition to yellow Piper Cub planes, visiting from throughout the West Coast Friday and Saturday.
Spectators gathered on the tarmac to watch flight proficiency games and contests carried out by experienced pilots.
Ahead of the big event, the public was invited to the airport Friday to chat with pilots, view planes and enjoy food trucks available on site.
The annual event is sponsored by the local EAA Chapter 275, Explore Lompoc, the City of Lompoc and the Lompoc Airport.
