GRIMES, Iowa —

An infant has died after a man allegedly struck the child dozens of times.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office says the 2-month-old child died. Authorities had previously arrested Dylan James Brown on multiple charges related to the case, including child endangerment, domestic abuse assault and more.

Brown was taken into custody earlier this month on those charges. At that time, the infant had to be hospitalized with serious injuries.

Deputies say they will work with the Polk County Attorney's Office to possibly enhance the charges against Brown.
