Defense attorneys say their client accidentally ran over a Vancouver man while trying to get away from him and his son.
Vancouver defense attorney Jason Bailes said video shows Andrew R. Roberts, 55, fatally struck Sundance Goodroad on July 9, 2024, in the parking lot of LeRoy Haagen Memorial Park.
The attorney said Goodroad and his son were drunk and following Roberts, a Bellingham resident, as he tried to get away from them while they hit his recreational vehicle and threw things at it.
Eventually, Goodroad stood in front of Roberts’ RV, Bailes said, and Roberts was unable to swerve out of the way. Goodroad was pronounced dead at a hospital.
