The company behind the Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project wants U.S. marshals to help protect utility workers during six property surveys.

PSEG cited threats and intimidation as reasons for a request for law enforcement presence. According to a court motion, four of the threats are being made in Baltimore County and two came from Carroll County.

The utility said surveyors are the target of racial slurs, and some property owners are threatening to shoot workers. In one case, a homeowner allegedly threatened to release her dogs on an employee.
