Tens of thousands of Arkansas households lost power on Tuesday as thunderstorms hit the state.
According to PowerOutage.us, almost 25,000 households were without power as of 6:34 p.m.
Pulaski County had the largest number, 6,454, at that time, followed by Perry County with 5,453, Mississippi County with 2,491 and Saline County with 2,315.
Entergy Arkansas recorded a peak of around 19,000 outages across the state, Matt Ramsey, a spokesperson for the utility said. By 8:30 p.m., Entergy's number of outages had fallen to just under 8,000.
Erik Green, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service's North Little Rock office, said the northern half of the state, particularly the northern-central Arkansas, was hardest hit by the storms.
