NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Calling an Uber or Lyft to or from Nashville International Airport (BNA) now includes some of the highest fees in the country.
The rideshare companies said surcharges from BNA and Metro Nashville are included in all trips passengers take, but many people will only find out about these fees if they look at the itemized receipt after a ride.
Hidden in that receipt is a $5 standard fee per pick-up or drop-off at the airport that goes directly to BNA. Metro also collects an additional $2 tax on all rides that start at the airport.
The money collected by the airport goes towards more than $500 million in transportation and roadway infrastructure projects. A BNA spokesperson said their money helps maintain and upgrade facilities used by rideshare cars without relying
