NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) -Late Monday night, around 11:50 p.m., officers with the East Precinct were called to a pedestrian crash on Interstate 65 North at Dickerson Pike.

The pedestrian, a 41-year-old Indiana man, was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.

According to police, the man was sitting in a lane of traffic with his back to traffic. A motorist who saw the man stopped on the right shoulder and tried to talk to him, but the man didn’t respond.

Then, police said a sedan struck the Indiana man and fled the scene.

The driver who had stopped, then ran across the interstate and pulled the Indiana man into the left shoulder.
