SHEPHERDSTOWN - The bar has been set high for the Shepherd University volleyball team, after the Rams were recently picked to finish first in the 2025 PSAC Eastern Division preseason volleyball poll, receiving four first-place votes.

Shepherd is coming off an impressive 2024 season, in which it won the PSAC Eastern Division, reached the semifinals of the PSAC tournament, where it fell to Indiana, Pennsylvania, in five sets and earned a spot in the NCAA II Atlantic Region tournament, where it fell, also, to IUP. The Rams finished with a 24-6 record overall, including a perfect 14-0 in conference play during the regular season.

Led by reigning PSAC East Coach of the Year Alex Hoekstra, Shepherd is poised for more success this season, as it returns several key players. Those include all-PSA
