EUGENE — Malik Benson is simultaneously the kind of receiver Oregon badly needed and a player with a journey that may not come through Eugene ever again.

The journeyman receiver began his career at Hutchinson Community College in 2021, when he was a first team NJCAA All-American. Benson had 2,152 receiving yards and 21 touchdowns over two seasons in JUCO, then spent 2023 at Alabama (13 catches for 162 yards and one touchdown) and last season at Florida State (25 catches for 311 yards and one touchdown).

The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Benson is capable of stretching the field vertically, something the No. 7 Ducks desperately needed this offseason and even more so with Evan Stewart out indefinitely.
