SOUTH FULTON, Ga. — The highly scrutinized South Fulton mayor, Khalid Kamau, announced on Monday that he will be running for reelection, despite saying that he would not run for the office just several months ago.

Kamau made the announcement on Monday morning, acknowledging the fact that he had told the public he would not seek reelection to be South Fulton's mayor once again after four years in office.

"A few months ago, I said that I wasn't going to run because I was really just tired of fighting," Kamau, who now goes by Mayor Kobi, said. "But I realized that South Fulton is worth fighting for."
