Jacky Ankeles was an amazing radio announcer for local radio station WNBP. They specialized in classic rock music, and her knowledge of rock music was encyclopedic. I loved listening to her introduce the songs she played. Every year during Yankee Homecoming she would broadcast live from downtown Newburyport, usually on Inn Street. I went down there and got to meet her while she was broadcasting. I visited her there every year and we became friends. While the music was playing on the air, we talked. While introducing a song on the air, she would use a performance personality and voice, but while the music played and we talked she would transform into a normal voice and personality. It was like watching magic. I was so disappointed when the radio station was sold to Bloomberg
