SPARTANBURG — Funeral details have been released for a decorated 19-year veteran of the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office who died Aug. 14 in a motorcycle crash near Walhalla .

Visitation for Capt. Steve Henderson will be from 5-8 p.m. Aug. 20 at Dunbar Funeral Home, 690 Southport Road in Roebuck. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 21 at NewSpring Church at 399 Peachwood Center Drive in Spartanburg.

Henderson was a 1993 graduate of Boiling Springs High School and served in the Air Force from 1994-98. He began his law enforcement career in uniform patrol, then worked in the narcotics division. Henderson later moved into the Sheriff's Office K-9 Division and was a five-time K-9 Handler of the Year, according to his obituary.
