CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - A Waterloo man was sentenced for distributing large quantities of drugs on Tuesday.
30-year-old Adis Vretenarevic, of Waterloo, was sentenced to federal prison after he pled guilty to conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance in March.
Police say Vretenarevic conspired to distribute large quantities of marijuana for further sale in Waterloo between August 2022 to January 2024.
At the time, he deposited thousands of dollars obtained through drug dealing into a bank account used by the drug trafficking organization.
He was on federal supervision due to a previous conviction of possession of a firearm by a drug user, according to court documents.
Vretenarevic was sentenced to five years in prison and a five-year supervised release following imprisonment.
