QUEEN CREEK, Ariz. — A Queen Creek pastor says a land dispute with a neighboring property took a disturbing turn last week when a man hurled a racial slur at him— an encounter he captured on video.
Pastor Paul Abram, who has lived on his property near Stacey Road and Lemon Avenue for nearly a decade, said tensions with the man—hired by a neighbor to clear weeds—had been escalating for months. On Aug. 13, while watering the dirt along an easement on his property, Abram said the man confronted him.
“We don’t want water on our side. You dumb [racial slur],” the man can be heard saying in the video recorded by Abram.
