KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WDAF) -- Two people have minor injuries after a small plane made an emergency landing Tuesday afternoon in Johnson County, Missouri.
Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after 4:45 p.m. on reports of a possible plane crash north of Centerview, according to the Johnson County Fire Protection District JCFPD.
The fire department reports the single-engine aircraft was found about 200 yards off NW 501 Road near the Blackwater River.
The two people on the plane, a flight instructor and a student pilot, are reported to have minor injuries. One was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
JCFPD said the flight originated from the Lee's Summit area and experienced an engine failure, forcing it to make an emergency landing.
