LONG BEACH, Miss. (WLOX) - At the end of Tuesday’s Long Beach Board of Aldermen meeting, the aldermen voted to continue pursuing the casino project in Long Beach Harbor.
Citizens flocked to City Hall to hear a potential decision.
The city has been in the negotiation process ever since the newest proposal, which puts the casino fully south of Highway 90.
Members from the Long Beach Yacht Club attended because they were worried about potential impacts to their property. It was clarified at the meeting that the negotiations do not include the yacht club’s property.
“I am relieved that, according to the mayor, that negotiation does not include anything to do with Long Beach Yacht Club,” said Jan Hansen, Long Beach Yacht Club Public Relations.
