DAVENPORT, Iowa. (KWQC) - Davenport city leaders have more questions than answers when it comes to the city’s new solar code.
Proposals for the city’s new solar code were presented to city leaders on Tuesday afternoon.
In May, Davenport city leaders put in a moratorium on solar farms and free-standing solar panels.
Leaders said this was so they could do research, analysis and change Davenport’s current code.
“We found some areas that need clarity and we’re looking for some direction from council on exactly what they are looking for,” Laura Berkley, the city’s development and planning administrator, said. “And then we will go through the change process.”
City leaders and staff have to consider lots of details, especially when it comes to panels mounted on buildings, poles or racks.
