A community nuisance is what Algiers residents are calling an old New Orleans Police Department building that's been left abandoned and boarded up.
People who live in the area on Richland Road said they are pleading with the city to do something about the property that has become a dumping ground. Advertisement
The property that was once a hub of law enforcement now sits silent, boarded up and forgotten.
"My family has been living near here a few years now, and I come to this park pretty regularly, and it's an eyesore for sure," said Jacob Gonzales.
NOPD's fourth district moved from Richland Road to its new location on Wall Boulevard, a $7.9 million project, and while the new facility is state of the art, residents said the old building is no longer an eyesore, it's a h
